The Road to entrepreneurship

According to Wikipedia:

“An entrepreneur is a person who has possession of an enterprise, or venture, and assumes significant accountability for the inherent risks and the outcome. It is an ambitious leader who combines land, labor, and capital to often create and market new goods or services.”

So entrepreneurship is quite a “buzz word” nowadays; every now and then we hear success stories of young and ambitious businessmen who managed to attain success and recognition in their early phase of life, when their peers are working miserable jobs that they hate!

Without going into further details about “What is entrepreneurship?” and “What are the merits or demerits(if there are any) involved in this particular mindset?”, I will today summarize some of my readings about the “Entrepreneurs” who have revealed to the “rest of us” the actual mind set and methodology that enabled them to achieve exceptional success I do not know whether I am still in the age group that is qualified enough to be called “Entrepreneurs”, but I strongly believe that whatever age group you belong to, these steps and mind set tips, will surely lead to “The Destination of an Entrepreneur.”

Decide on what kind of work you’re interested in:

This is the most basic step and the most overlooked too, you ought to clarify your destination before you start a journey. Set Goal for yourself and you should have interest in it. Do not think of the money value for now, just follow your instincts; remember it’s your life and you have got one chance to live it, so live your life according to your taste, live it to maximum!

You should wake up excited for your work:

Passion and never ending quest for improving and success are the building blocks of a successful and leading personality. If you hate your work, you can never feel passionate about it and without this passion you can never excel!

You have to prove your worth, Stop acting like you’re entitled to a paycheck:

This is the basic psychological barrier between an Entrepreneur and all the fresh graduates or other qualified people; they think they deserve a higher salary. Now I do not want anyone to set himself at low standard, but try to think it the other way. Your expectations abstain you, from doing basic work by hand, and to polish your skills. Remember that without practical experience qualifications are of no value. You can give anyone a day long lecture on “How to Swim?” but if that person really needs to learn “Swimming” he has to jump into the water and make struggle and effort to keep his head high above the water. Without taking the practical step, none can learn swimming and similarly without practically indulging into work of your expertise; and without proving your worth with practical results you should not expect a Paycheck. When anyone acts like being “entitled to a paycheck” he is actually refraining himself from taking challenging and responsibilities, and without this you can only dream to be an entrepreneur. So start doing what you are passionate about and forget the paycheck for now and you will be better paid off later. Postpone getting paid now, for amazing opportunities later.

Get yourself some skills:

The older we get, the more responsibilities and financial obligations drop into our laps. Now is the time to begin creating the life you desire… before it’s too late.

If your skill set on your resume consists of "Proficient in Microsoft Office," then you have no marketable skills. Knowing how to create a document, format a PowerPoint, or organize a spreadsheet are not things you can brag about — those are things every employer expects, like knowing how to pronounce your own name, or remaining continent during office hours.

You need to have actual skills that are both in high demand (in your desired industry) and slightly difficult to learn. You’ll be extremely valuable if your skill is both rare and in high demand.

it’s a sad fact that few people have the drive to teach themselves the rudiments of their craft. And employers will respect those with the passion that do.

Build your online presence:

In this era of Information Technology, building an online presence is a crucial step, however this is a topic of more detailed article and I will explain it later on in another blog post. For now, I urge all my readers to think about all the above points and share your views with me.

I have been willing to write an article like that for a long time, but in the midst of my busy routine I lost the passion to write it. Today, I read the presentation by Charlie Hoehn and I was just stimulated to write this post. I have quoted deliberately from this presentation and I very thankful to Charlie Hoehn because he returned me my lost passion!

What is RSS? How it is useful?

This posted is specially for my MIT class-fellows at Virtual University.

I have full time job as an Internet Marketing Manager in a reputed firm. Since internet is becoming a part of our everyday life I have thought to create a series of articles to increase your/my Internet IQ, this means “the awareness to use internet for create purpose”. So to share my knowledge with you people I will post various informative articles on my blog and I will email you whenever I will post something new, this way our knowledge will grow. I will post informative and easy articles, if you have got any question or trouble understanding them, you can always ask me.
Also if any of you want to share his/her knowledge I will be delighted to know, but please friends only share knowledge and useful things, no get rich schemes etc.

RSS is a summary of new and updated content of any website and if you like any website due to its useful knowledge, and this website also has RSS, then by using it’s RSS you will always know immediately whenever new information is posted and you do not need to remember the address of website or check it for new information. RSS automates this process.

Remember getting an RSS is always Free and easy.

The standard icon for RSS is
